Advanced Application Engineer for HandHeld Products, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA)
RESPONSIBILITES:
Provide Senior Tier 3 technical support with a focus on high quality, accuracy, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction. Support is often provided to partners and customers who are in technical positions such as software development, database administration, system administration, network administration, and various IT functions.
Analyze and clarify customer queries through troubleshooting, researching, and recreating of issues.
Capable of handling all Tier 2 and Tier 3 requests.
Frequently determines root cause and develops solutions at a code level.
Frequently work directly with engineering to investigate/reproduce complex issues together.
Develop and test small software fixes and features to meet customer requirements.
High success rate of relentlessly troubleshooting the most challenging uncommon and rare problems.

40 hours/week

YOU MUST HAVE:
Qualified candidates willpossess a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology,Computer Science, Network Engineering, Software Development, TelecommunicationNetworks, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field, and 5years of experience in a technical role. In the alternative, employer willaccept a Master’s degree in the above-listed fields and 2 years of experiencein a technical role. Full term of experience must include: hands-on experiencein object-oriented programming, including Java and/or Python; experiencetroubleshooting software application issues at a code level, by steppingthrough the application logic for programs mostly written with Java, Python,C#, proprietary Vocollect TaskBuilder, and transact SQL stored procedures;understanding of Internet application technologies including HTML, XML, andInternet application architectures based upon Java technology; developing andtesting small software fixes and features to meet customer requirements; providingbasic level development assistance to voice solution developers; knowledge ofrelational database management systems (Microsoft SQL and Oracle) andstructured query language (SQL); knowledge of both client and server operatingsystems (Windows & Linux); and experience with cloud solutions.Approximately 15% domestic travel required for onsite troubleshooting.Telecommuting permitted up to 2 times per week.
