Our client is currently seeking an Advanced Electrical Engineer/ ON SITE Rhode Island ***All candidates must live locally to Rhode Island area*** Candidates will test property loss prevention products and services—for use in commercial and industrial facilities—to verify they meet rigorous loss prevention standards of quality, technical integrity and performance.By employing a worldwide certification process that’s backed by scientific research and testing, and over a century of experience.Our certification instills confidence and commands respect in your marketplace As an Approvals Engineer you will be responsible for:  The person in this position will be responsible for planning, conducting and directing testing and analysis of electronic equipment used primarily in fire protection and explosion prevention systems submitted for company approvals.  Performing testing and analysis of manufacturers submitted product to determine conformance with industry standards, such as company approvals, EN and UL Codes.  Preparation of test plans, supervision of tests, project management, documentation of results, written reports and other complex tasks associated with third party certification. Administer project proposals which includes, defining the scope of the testing and analysis, cost for work to be completed and estimated timeframe for completion. Interpreting standards requirements for lab testing, including creating lab test plans.Providing instruction to lab personnel to perform necessary testing.Preparing technical reports; effectively interpreting and communicating tests results to clients and management team.Managing concurrently a portfolio of customer projects Interfacing directly with customers. Communicating with all levels of management both internally and externally.The working environment includes both the office and laboratory.Overnight travel, to consult with customers, attend technical conferences and to conduct and monitor tests at test facilities, is typically less than 25%.Role is based at company’s Engineering and Research facility in, MA, with occasional travel to the state-of-the-art facility in, Rhode Island,. BS Electrical Engineering.  Minimum of 7+ years related experience, preferably in product development or testing of electrical equipment. 10 years’ experience of electronic product development or certification, preferably with fire alarm equipment is ideal Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong managerial, organizational, client facing, and customer service skills.Experience in project/time management and the ability to prioritize job duties and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in MS Office applications.Familiarity with third party product certification and industry standards such as company approvals, EN, NFPA and UL is desirable.  Local candidates that are commutable to Rhode Island candidates only  Candidates will be considered for an Engineer or Advanced Engineer role based on experience.
