Overview:
Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support project input, technical specifications, and proposal development for complex rotating equipment solutions. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality technical proposals, managing project documentation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful application support and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare professional-quality proposals for customer project orders and applications
Provide technical support to internal teams and external clients regarding company products and services
Identify and resolve technical and commercial challenges associated with non-standard project orders
Create technical papers and present information to both internal and external audiences
Maximize project profitability while minimizing technical and commercial risks
Manage and maintain application standards, reference materials, and project documentation
Support project management with technical issue resolution during order fulfillment
Assist marketing and R&D teams by verifying technical content and offering subject matter expertise
Lead and support training initiatives for internal staff and external customers
Participate in process improvement projects as assigned
Represent the company at industry events and association meetings as an application expert
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the rotating equipment industry
Strong understanding of project and specification management, product application, and related commercial practices
Proficiency in formal business communication
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities using analytical and statistical methods
Experience organizing and maintaining documentation for major project orders
Ability to summarize and present technical information in written reports and presentations
Additional required competencies as outlined in the internal career skills matrix
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary role; must be able to sit for extended periods
Manual dexterity required for computer use and phone operation
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone
