We’re seeking an AI Design Engineer with strong full-stack skills to join our Agentic Apps Team—someone capable of taking ideas from concept to launch across design, frontend, and backend. This team works quickly, experiments often, and operates at the intersection of AI, commerce, and user experience. If you have built popular Shopify apps before and enjoy end-to-end product development, this role is for you. Your Responsibilities: Design, build, and launch full-stack Shopify apps from prototype to production. Lead development using Shopify APIs, Liquid, and app extensions. Build UI components (React) and backend services (Node.js, Python). Create AI-enhanced workflows to automate merchant tasks. Develop the future of Human <> AI Agent UI for Commerce. Ensure performance, scalability, accessibility, and maintainability of your code. Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting. Solve complex issues across distributed systems and integrations. Qualifications: 7+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, with a focus on Shopify app development and familiarity with agentic apps. A strong portfolio of end-to-end Shopify projects from concept to launch and scale. Expertise in modern front-end frameworks (React) and backend technologies (Node.js, Python). Experience with tools like CopilotKit, Google ADK, Metabase. Deep knowledge of Shopify’s ecosystem, including GraphQL, REST APIs, Liquid, and app extensions. Proficiency in rapid prototyping tools (Figma, Bolt, Cursor, etc.) and translating designs into production applications. Effective communicator who values clean design and great user experiences, capable of operating under ambiguity. Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) and experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and AWS. Compensation: - Canadian locations: CAD $140K to $175K annually. - US locations: USD $150K to $190K annually. Actual pay varies based on qualifications, experience, and location.
