AIML - Sr Machine Learning Engineer - Data and ML Innovation Seattle, Washington, United States | Machine Learning and AI Description As a Machine Learning (ML) Engineer, you will be responsible for innovating and applying research in foundation models, with a focus on audio data. This includes working across the entire ML pipeline—from pre-training on large-scale unlabeled audio corpora to post-training evaluation and fine-tuning with task-specific datasets. Your work will impact future Apple products and the broader ML ecosystem. You will design and develop a multi-modal data generation and curation framework for foundation models, build robust evaluation pipelines, and analyze multi-modal data to understand its influence on model behavior. Additionally, you will have opportunities to publish and present your research at academic venues. Your work may include: Designing self-supervised and semi-supervised representation learning pipelines for tasks like speech recognition and speaker identification. Applying data selection techniques such as novelty detection and active learning across modalities. Modeling data distributions to uncover patterns, reduce redundancy, and handle out-of-distribution challenges. Learning new methods rapidly and guiding product teams in ML solution selection. Minimum Qualifications Deep technical skills in machine learning areas such as computer vision, audio, NLP, deep learning, or related fields. Strong Python skills and experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX. 5+ years of experience developing and evaluating ML applications, with a focus on data and model quality. Preferred Qualifications Deep understanding of multi-modal foundation models. Knowledge of emerging trends in generative AI and multi-modal LLMs. Ability to formulate ML problems and communicate solutions effectively. Publication record in relevant conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML). Experience applying ML to cross-disciplinary problems. Compensation for this role ranges from $139,500 to $258,100, depending on skills and experience.
