Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Duties and Tasks: As a member of the Power and Analog Hardware group, you will be involved in all program phases, including: • Electrical requirements analysis, functional analysis, performance analysis ( timing, power, etc.), design, integration and verification/qualification of electrical hardware, equipment and systems • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) assessments of COTS or internally developed hardware; including requirement analysis, specification and testing of various designs (circuit cards, assemblies, etc.) • Internal electrical and EMI/EMC reviews of electrical components, hardware, equipment and systems. Work with multi-discipline design teams to ensure best practices for EMI/EMC design, build, test principles. • Evaluation of vendor capability to support product development • Supporting resolution of any EMI/EMC related issues in design, integration & test, qualification, manufacturing, and equipment lifecycle support phases. You will primarily support the Maritime & Strategic Systems business area developing and deploying Weapon System Control and Launch system hardware, with opportunities to work across multiple GDMS sites and programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Clear understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories with a focus on Power and EMI/EMC concepts and theories, including radiated emissions/susceptibility, conducted emissions/susceptibility, noise propagation and mitigation techniques. • Clear understanding of electrical engineering processes and engineering design tools (MATLAB / Simulink, LTspice) • Basic knowledge of power conversion (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC & various topologies), power conditioning, filtering, distribution, protection, control & monitoring techniques • Grasps and applies new information quickly • Good ability to handle more complex assignments with experience • Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction • Good written and verbal communication skills • Good ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound ASIC/FPGA design topics • Clear understanding of Microsoft Office application
