This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
Job Summary:
Trane in Fishers, IN is seeking an Application Engineer who will focus on building controls design. In this role, you will be responsible for developing direct digital controls for various building types, focusing on electronic comfort control and automation systems. This role involves obtaining and reviewing contract documents, creating detailed installation and submittal drawings, and generating advanced sequences of operations to meet project requirements. Additionally, the engineer will maintain knowledge of Trane Controls products, assist with cost estimates and technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
**What you will do:   **
· Responsible for the optimization/validation of the controls equipment by reviewing the plans, specifications, original estimate and proposal.
. Responsible for building controls design utilizing direct digital controls on a variety of building types, in regard to the electronic comfort control and automation systems.
· Responsible for creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings, and transition to service, evaluating possible cost savings and/or cost problems that will occur on various projects.
· Validates project scope by reviewing transition documents, contract documents, equipment submittals, plans and specs; listing possible cost savings and problems; validating quantities and configurations.
· Supports sales and develops preliminary submittals and/or final submittals as required, as well as hold job cost consensus meeting and submittal release and makes any necessary changes.
· Maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends, as well as optimizes expenses by negotiating prices with vendors for materials.
· Responsible for preparing the correct equipment for order entry, verifying equipment pricing and revising coordination worksheet, as well as reconcile job costs.
**What you will bring: **
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas; or two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· Windows/ Microsoft Office product knowledge.
· Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
· Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
· DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Carless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $73,050 to 96,450 annually
