Reports To: Chief Engineer/ Director of Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Chief Engineer to support our engineering team in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our facility's operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for problem-solving. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and various departments to ensure that all engineering projects are executed smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the maintenance, operation, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the facility.
- Manage and lead engineering staff and maintenance teams in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of engineering projects, ensuring they meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of maintenance activities, repairs, and engineering projects.
- Monitor and manage budgetary expenditures related to engineering operations and projects.
- Provide training and mentorship to engineering staff and maintenance teams to enhance skills and safety awareness.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) or equivalent experience .
- Minimum of FIVE (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to manage a diverse team.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and relevant codes and regulations.
- Proficient in using engineering software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PE, HVAC, etc.) are a plus.
