Job Description

As an Assistant Engineer you will apply your unique skills and insights as part of teams that span the South Central Region and the United States.

The position includes performing structural analysis, modeling, and design of structures such as low-rise buildings, pump stations, process basins, treatment facilities, dams, and spillways. Design responsibilities include computer-aided design, AutoCAD/Revit drafting/modeling, and full structural design per governing building codes. You will perform construction management tasks such as shop drawing review and field inspections.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • In the process of obtaining EIT certificate via successful completion of the FE exam
  • Proficient in standard software platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, etc.)
  • Ability to travel occasionally to project construction sites

Preferred

  • EIT certificate
  • Committed to successfully passing the PE exam
  • Committed to obtaining the PE and/or SE professional license after requisite experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other software
    • Experience in reinforced concrete, steel, and reinforced masonry modeling and design
    • Engagement with professional societies and similar organizations by participating in meetings and conferences

Education

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural concentration) from an ABET accredited institution completed prior to employment

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (structural concentration) from an ABET accredited institution completed prior to employment
