Job Title: Assistant Facility Engineer – *In-Suite Services*A high number of candidates may make applications for this position, so make sure to send your CV and application through as soon as possible.Location: Scottsdale, AZDepartment: Engineering & FacilitiesReports To: Chief Facility EngineerFLSA Status: ExemptEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryScottsdale Waterfront Residences—the premier high-rise luxury condominium in the Southwest—is seeking a highly skilled and service-oriented *Assistant Facility Engineer – In-Suite Services. *This senior-level technician will lead the In-Suite Technician/Handyman service, overseeing maintenance and repairs inside individual condominium units while maintaining the highest levels of service, safety, and professionalism.This role is not typical building maintenance, it is designed for an exceptional individual capable of working in a high-demand, luxury residential environment. The successful candidate will help ensure the in-suite service team operates efficiently and profitably, with a focus on quality, responsiveness, and five-star resident experiences.Key Responsibilities* Serve as lead technician for repairs and maintenance inside individual units, including tasks ranging from minor fixes to appliance replacements.* Mentor and guide a team of in-suite technicians, ensuring all work meets performance and quality expectations.* Coordinate preventive maintenance programs such as in-unit filter changes, drain treatments, and duct cleanings.* Support after-hours emergency response and act as the senior point of contact during critical incidents.* Maintain accurate logs, service records, safety checklists, and inventory control per company policies and applicable codes.* Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with OSHA and company safety protocols.* Communicate professionally with residents, team members, and third-party contractors.* Monitor work order flow and ensure billable hours meet departmental financial goals.Minimum Qualifications* High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade school training preferred.* Minimum of 5 years of hands-on building maintenance experience (equivalent experience considered).* Strong knowledge of residential HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repair techniques.* EPA Universal Certification (CFC) strongly preferred.* Valid driver’s license with a clean record.* Proficient in technical documentation, blueprints, and schematics.* Must have or be able to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or similar federal clearance.* Familiarity with OSHA regulations and proper use of PPE.Skills & Competencies* Proven leadership and team management skills with a collaborative, mentorship-driven approach.* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; professionalism required in both verbal and written interactions with residents and staff.* Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.* Knowledge of relevant codes and building safety regulations (OSHA, NEC, local building codes).* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Physical Requirements* Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.* Frequent walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, and use of ladders.* Capability to work in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and at heights, using appropriate PPE.* Availability for emergency and on-call duties, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Work Environment* Work performed both indoors and outdoors, including in mechanical rooms, unit interiors, and rooftops.* Regular exposure to loud noise, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and cleaning chemicals.* Required participation in an emergency on-call rotation.*Compensation*We offer a *competitive compensation package* commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the unique demands of this senior-level role.
