Audio Visual Solution Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Audio-Visual Solutions Engineer in Richmond, VA, responsible for providing technical support and design solutions for our account management and technical teams. The successful candidate will have experience assessing customers’ needs, designing audio-visual systems and solutions, preparing proposals, drawings and ensuring solutions meet customer requirements. Collaboration with sales/technical teams to demonstrate the capabilities, benefits of A/V solutions and UCC platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design customized Audio-Visual solutions aligned to customer needs.
• Serve as a technical consultant to the sales team, generating functional system descriptions, block flow diagrams and equipment lists, pricing to enable generation of customer proposals.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, drawings utilizing Visio or AutoCAD and documentation/scopes of work for customers.
• Conduct site surveys and customer visits for potential solutions and installation requirements.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Function as the customer’s point-of-contact for problem identification and resolution for issues that have been escalated by the integration team.
• Provide remote support to Technicians and Field Engineers for integration of systems.
• Coordinate with Technicians, Field Engineers, Integration Manager, and Project Manager on system scope and design.
• Create user guides when applicable for customer system operation and provide end user training as needed, which allow for the best user experience for performance and control of complex systems.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Continually work to improve customer service perception and satisfaction.
• Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
• Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products.
• Enter time and expenses as they occur.
• Post-sales project consultation.
• Support in creating technical standards, processes/procedures.
• Complete training programs and gain certifications as required.
• As needed, responsible for the programming, testing, and support of complex audio-visual systems for control, audio DSP with Biamp, Q-SYS and other systems and software related configurations.
• This position will provide support for remote office/in-office pre-stage system testing/configuration, as well as onsite testing/commissioning support in a variety of customer environments.
• Assist with technical design, pricing and identify any logistical challenges.
• Supervise in-house rack testing and equipment set up for assigned projects when applicable.
• Perform remote and onsite service support as needed for completed integrated systems as part of our ongoing Technology Management Support Plans.

• Crestron/Extron/Q-SYS, Poly, Biamp, Shure, Vaddio, Zoom, Teams etc... Manufacturer Software Experience/Training.
• CTS certification recommended.
• Ability to read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals.
• PC literacy to include Microsoft Office applications, MAC experience helpful.
• Experience performing each of the job responsibilities outlined above in an associated industry.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to manage pressure-sensitive situations.
• Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP addressing, firewalls, routers, VPN, and VLAN setup in an AV/IT environment.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.
• Must be detail oriented, have multi-tasking abilities, and handle tight, high-stress deadlines.
• Candidates must be able to work multiple shifts including days, evenings, overtime, and some weekends based on project deadlines.
• Ability for some travel to complete assignments.
• Professional presentation and demeanor.
• 3 to 5+ years in AV system design and integration, DSP & control programming a plus.
• You must possess a valid driver’s license.
