Job Summary
In a manufacturing setting, we are looking to add an Automation Engineer to our manufacturing team in Houston who will be responsible for engineering, testing, maintaining, and supporting automation solutions.
Job Description
Provide technical automation support during equipment installations, commissioning, retrofits, and continuous improvement projects
Maintain and improve existing plant control systems
Support response to emergency breakdowns, issues diagnostic, and implementation of quick and effective solutions to minimize production disruptions
Identify root causes for equipment malfunction and determine corrective actions/preventive measures to increase equipment reliability
Conduct routine diagnostic equipment checks and calibrate instrumentation, such as flow meters and temperature, and pressure transducers
Program parameters for variable frequency drivers and servo drives
Stay current on technical knowledge and research new industrial automation equipment, instruments, controls, and materials for manufacturing use
Maintain detailed documentation of automation systems, including procedures, changes, and configurations
Adhere to safety regulations, including Arc Flash protection and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment
Follow company policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions for consistent work across all Client manufacturing facilities
Skills Required
Minimum of Five (5) years of previous relevant experience
Thorough understanding of PLCs, HMIs, including advanced programming techniques and configurations. (Experience with B&R Automation, Rockwell Automation, and/or Automation Direct)
Knowledge of VFD & Servo Motor Control
Knowledge of Industrial Networking. (EthernetIP, ModbusRTU, ModbusTCP, CanOpen, Powerlink)
Knowledge of Industrial Instrumentation - Level, Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Proximity Sensors, Reed Sensors, Laser Distance and Through-Beam Sensors
Proficiency using MS Office and other tools
A team player who constructively contributes to a positive environment
Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
Education/Training/Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree and/or other degree and relevant experience
Additional Requirements
Schedule: M-F, Typical 7:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with minimal on-call schedule. Weekend/ Night shift coverage
Pay Rate/Salary
$100,000 - $130,000 annually
