Indrotec is recruiting on behalf of Rother Machine, a premier custom machine builder in Hastings, MN. We’re seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with a strong electrical background and proven experience in automated manufacturing systems. As an Automation Engineer, you’ll lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for state-of-the-art custom machinery. What You’ll Do

•Design and program PLC and HMI systems using Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, and related tools

•Develop electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical

•Oversee panel design and assembly, ensuring UL508A compliance

•Manage electrical project life cycle from concept to installation

•Work directly with customers to define and deliver customized automation solutions

•Troubleshoot and optimize system performance

•Collaborate with engineers, technicians, vendors, and procurement to meet project deadlines

What We’re Looking For

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)

•4+ years of electrical design experience in custom or automated machinery

•2+ years of hands-on experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View

•Familiarity with high and low voltage systems (480VAC, 24VDC, etc.), motor controls, VFDs, and sensors

•Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical

•Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA standards

•Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

•Ability to travel occasionally for customer support or fieldwork

•Ability to lift 40 lbs and work in varied field environments as needed
