Summary
Take your engineering career to new heights as a full-time Aviation Project Engineer focused on designing and improving airports that connect communities and support global travel. In this role, you’ll assist in the comprehensive engineering and planning of airport projects ranging from small general aviation facilities to major commercial international airports. You’ll engage in a wide variety of tasks, including AutoCAD Civil 3D design, plan production, technical writing, research, and public involvement—all while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and standards. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to broader transportation and community planning projects, expanding your skills and impact. Software

Project Delivery
Leads the production of and provides quality control for the following:
Engineer's design report
Construction quantity calculations and cost estimates
Project plans
Project specifications
Construction safety and phasing plans
Airport Layout Plan development
Other technical reports, memos, and design documents
Understanding Budget and Schedule
Strong understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets. Demonstrates ability to predict and deliver individual tasks within a set level of effort. Consistently meets budget and schedule expectations on projects. Develops budgets and schedules for complex tasks and projects. Breaks down complex projects into logical tasks. Demonstrates ability to prioritize multiple assignments to successfully deliver projects on time and on budget. Mentors others on above.
Industry Standards and Regulations
Expertly interprets, selects, and employs FAA design codes. Actively mentors others on interpreting design codes. Understands limitations of design codes.
Client Interaction
Frequent direct communications with clients on large/complex projects; lead technical client project meetings. Understands appropriate messaging and legal risks. Participates in project interviews.

Primarily performs advanced technical tasks on complex, demanding projects for the market sector. Operates with a high level of autonomy. Reviews the work of others. Mentors others with less experience. May provide some project management services.
Supervisory Duties

Oversees team operations and the daily workflow of the team
Organizes workflow and ensures that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
Recruits and hires new employees
Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required
Years of experience required: 10 years
Years of experience required with advanced degree: 9 years
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
PE required
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
