An Azure Cloud Engineer III with VGM Corporate IT is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will leverage your extensive experience to lead cloud projects, optimize performance, ensure security, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. The Azure Cloud Engineer III will work closely with other IT professionals, internal and external to VGM, to support the organization’s cloud computing needs. As an Azure Cloud Engineer III, you will not only make an impact with technical solutions across the company but also contribute to the working environment and company culture as an employee owner.  Reporting Accountability:  VP of IT Operations Working Location: On-Site in Waterloo, Iowa (possible hybrid opportunities) Working Hours Classification: Full-Time,8am-5pm+ CST Monday-Friday, with additional hours as needed Experience Level:  Senior (6-10+ years ideally)  Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure Lead cloud migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep Monitor and optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and highest performance Implement and manage Azure security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture and integration strategies Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and other IT professionals, such as developers, network engineers, and security specialists, both internal and external, to achieve organizational goals Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related issues Mentor, coach, develop, and provide technical guidance to junior cloud engineers and team members; including but not limited to training, answering questions, and working together to accomplish goals Keep documentation up-to-date with any changes in the Azure environment Maintain relevant and up-to-date knowledge with the latest Azure services, features, and best practices Ensure compliance with security best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements Qualifications: Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field 6-10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years focused on cloud engineering Proven success working in standing up Azure Landing Zones and environments Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure DevOps Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure Pipelines Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) is a nice-to-have Azure certifications are preferred (Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer) Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep, and C# Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VNETs, VPNs, and load balancers Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong understanding of Azure services, including virtual machines, networking and storage Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standard in cloud environments Strong communication and collaboration skills Physical Requirements: Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment. Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision. Comfort and acceptance of a remote work environment; working at a distance from the home-office and team members yet staying connected through in-office virtual networks.
