As a Backend Software Engineer at Regard, you’ll be involved in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle: idea generation, planning, design, prototyping, execution, deployment, and iteration of new and existing features. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product teams to bring new features and products to life.Your primary objective will be to develop high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and align with the organization’s business goals. This includes analyzing requirements, designing robust architectures, writing efficient code, and conducting thorough testing.You’ll be responsible for contributing to high-priority projects and continuous improvement initiatives. We want you to join us.Responsibilities:Collaborate with product and design team members to design medium to large projects balancing speed to market, user experience, business goals, and technical architecture qualityOperate independently in building new features and capabilities, with support from senior engineersMaintain and improve the quality of the codebase and tooling in your area of responsibility by proactive fixes and improvements, and through identifying and proposing projects to improve the overall backend codebaseParticipate in operational activities supporting including on-call, monitoring, and production supportContribute as necessary across the stack (front end, infrastructure, AWS, etc)Qualifications:BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience3+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Python preferred)Able to participate in on-call operational support for their areas of responsibilityAble to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeksPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Kubernetes, AWS services (serverless, etc), OpenAI servicesExperience working on a mature enterprise SaaS technology productExposure to startup and/or high growth environments or experience working on an enterprise SaaS technology productStrong verbal and written communication skillsHybrid Work | Location | Work AuthorizationFor this role, Regard is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and are within the San Francisco metro areaOur expectation for this role is to be in the office 2 days per week.
