Building Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Engineer to join one of our top clients in the commercial real estate space supporting the operations and maintenance of Class A commercial office properties . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building systems, preventative maintenance, and tenant service, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a commercial real estate environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily inspections, operations, and maintenance of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and energy management.
Respond promptly to tenant service requests and ensure issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
Monitor and maintain building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems.
Assist with coordination and oversight of third-party vendors and contractors.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Support capital improvement projects and tenant build-outs as needed.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, building codes, and company policies.
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in building engineering or facilities maintenance, preferably in Class A commercial office properties .
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Experience with building automation systems (e.g., Trane, Siemens, Johnson Controls).
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification a plus.
Preferred Attributes: Professional demeanor and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy efficiency initiatives.
Experience working in a fast-paced, tenant-focused environment.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
