Position: Business Intelligence Software Engineer Department: Digital Insights Reports to: Director, Operational Insights Location : Hybrid As a Business Intelligence Software Engineer, you will oversee the development and delivery of innovative reporting software applications that support our field operations, business, and customer needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions that align with business goals. The position will: SDLC Management: Oversee all stages of the Business Insights Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and maintainable applications.
Technical Strategy: Provide technical oversight, guiding the team on best practices for application architecture, performance, and scalability.
Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of software quality by establishing robust testing frameworks, managing code reviews, and overseeing bug-tracking processes.
Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by adopting new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance productivity and software quality.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Strong communication skills, performance & proficiency management, time management, coordination, training, efficiency in standards development, sound decision-making, and positive approach. Strong engineering background preferred in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, and Data Science
Strong coder with shown proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar
Proven experience managing software development projects using Agile or other SDLC methodologies.
Exceptional ability to define and analyze complex problems, design and plan approaches, manage engagement, and deliver results using a combination of strategy and design methodologies
Experience working with utility or government clients
Experience with utility or asset-related maintenance technology platforms
