Civil Engineer (Land Development)

We are seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with experience in Land Development for commercial and private sector projects. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD, particularly LDD. This role will involve working on projects in Montgomery County and PG County, including 1-lot projects, existing subdivision projects, and pond retrofits.

Responsibilities:

• Design and manage land development projects, including roads and grading.
• Perform specific engineering tasks related to pond retrofits, such as pond outflow and control structures, modifications of riser pipes, valves, weirs, and other components.
• Design stormwater management systems for roadway corridors with Environmentally Sensitive Design.
• Conduct culvert analysis and design, stream restoration, and hydraulic modeling.
• Prepare civil site plans and water resource engineering designs.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in Land Development, stormwater management, sediment control, and grading.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (LDD preferred) and Civil 3D.
• Experience with stormwater management design, sewer design, and single-lot development.
• Strong knowledge of water resources and civil engineering principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering (preferred but not required).
• Experience in Montgomery County and PG County is highly preferred.
• Private sector experience is highly preferred, but public sector experience will also be considered.

Work Environment:

This position is based in our Silver Spring headquarters, which has around 50 employees. We offer a project team-based environment rather than a departmental layout. Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $45.67/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
