Job Summary:
The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for leading design efforts, overseeing the preparation of technical drawings and calculations, and mentoring junior staff. This role involves managing complex design tasks and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering solutions. The Civil Project Engineer works closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure that designs meet both client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Primary Essential Functions:
Lead the development of detailed engineering designs for complex projects, ensuring that designs meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements.
Prepare and review technical drawings, models, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project goals and standards.
Use advanced design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) to develop detailed models and construction documents that integrate structural, mechanical, and environmental systems.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, helping them develop their technical skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure the seamless integration of building systems and the successful execution of designs.
Conduct quality control reviews of project deliverables, ensuring that all designs meet internal and external standards for accuracy and technical precision.
Serve as a key technical resource for project teams, providing leadership in resolving design challenges and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and updates to ensure client satisfaction.
This role may require occasional travel to client sites, project locations, or other Stratus offices. Candidates should have the ability and flexibility to travel as needed to support project execution and client engagement.

Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
4-5 years of experience in engineering design and project management.
Preferred
Experience leading complex or large-scale engineering projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer certification or ability to obtain licensure in near term.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.
Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.).
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
