Communications Installation Engineer at ManTech summary: The Communications Installation Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining radio communication systems including HF, VHF, UHF, and SATCOM equipment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, field validations on watercraft and ships, and collaborating with engineers to develop technical solutions. The engineer supports Department of Defense operations, requiring travel and adherence to security clearance and physical demands.
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented  Communications Installation Engineer.  This position is onsite in  San Diego , CA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support team members and perform required communication equipment integration or installation of communication systems equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and use of test equipment as required
Install, configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and manage HF, UHF, SATCOM, radio communications suites and associated network and cryptographic equipment deployed
Performance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of electronic equipment
Work alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems
Analyze operations and offering suggestions for improvement
Perform field validations of various watercraft and equipment
Perform work between customer sites, shore sites, and/or on ships
Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS if necessary (ex. Spain, Japan, Hawaii, Guam)
Minimum Requirements: Associates degree in related field and 4 years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience in lieu of degree
Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) services at both Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) locations
Must have technical experience with AC/DC circuits
Must have experience with HF/VHF/UHF installation/troubleshooting
Must have experience with RF Connectors
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with HF/VHF/UHF radio systems RF test equipment
Experience with JIRA/Confluence
NAVSEA Certified in Fiber Optic Termination
Tower Climber Certified
Clearance Requirements: Must be US Citizen and have an active Secret security clearance
Must be eligible to get a CAC card
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.
Work extensive time in stationary positions.
Climb and descend ladders
