Overview: The Container Hardening Engineer for Iron Bank (IB) plays a critical role in securing containerized applications and implementing best practices to meet Iron Bank and DoD standards. This position focuses on building secure containers, documenting implementations, and contributing to DevSecOps efforts within Kubernetes environments.
Key Responsibilities: Harden Docker containers to meet Iron Bank and DoD security standards
Perform CVE assessments and vulnerability testing on container workloads
Document container implementation, updates, and compliance processes
Deploy and manage secure, containerized applications in Kubernetes environments
Integrate and optimize container security tools (e.g., Twistlock, Aqua)
Support CI/CD pipelines and service mesh technologies like Istio
Collaborate with Iron Bank teams to maintain secure container repositories
Provide technical support and respond to escalations related to container hardening
Apply cloud platform expertise (AWS, GCP, Azure) for secure deployments
, Required Skills
Required Skills: 3+ years of experience in containerized application development and security Advanced expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container security tools Strong understanding of Kubernetes deployment models and service mesh (e.g., Istio) Experience with running containers on different system architectures (amd64, arm).
Experience with Gitlab pipelines and Git CLI.
Experience with Renovate Bot (used for automatically updating container software versions) would be a plus
Experience with vulnerability testing tools for container environments Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS)
