The Controls Engineer we are looking for should have a high electro-mechanical aptitude with desire and ability to work effectively as a team member with a strong supporting role to the Maintenance Team. Candidate should be experienced in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment. Emphasis will be placed on electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, plant wiring, PLC programming, robot maintenance and programming, electronic component troubleshooting and repair, installation of components, reading and creating electrical wiring diagrams, teaching and mentoring Maintenance Associates and all phases of plant equipment troubleshooting.
Work responsibilities to include: Work directly with Plant Engineering to specify electrical/electronic requirements for Capital improvements, Project Management scope includes installation and commissioning for new equipment, general equipment inspection to determine root cause of reported problem as well as design of problem solution. Process Improvement and Continuous Improvement to improve plant operations and control systems. Supervisory experience and understanding in working with a union shop is preferred. Essential Skills/Experience 5 years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience Electrical troubleshooting skills Mechanical troubleshooting Skills PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley, Rockwell Automation, TI, Siemens, Wonderware) Robot programming and maintenance (Kuka, Motoman) Read and understand mechanical and electrical/electronic drawings Ability to determine root cause Ability to train Maintenance Associates in troubleshooting techniques Additonal Attributes for Success Material Handling Systems Pneumatic Conveying Equipment Processing Equipment to include cookers, steamers and gas fired dryers Film Packaging Equipment both vertical and horizontal Automatic Carton Packaging both vertical and horizontal Automated Case Packing Systems Automated Palletizing Systems both traditional and robotic GMP/Food Processing experience Project Management Documentation of Troubleshooting procedures for industrial equipment SAP Microsoft Office Suite TPM and Lean Manufacturing principles Ability to generate and interpret clear and concise verbal and written instructions with line workers and management to accomplish safe/efficient troubleshooting Ability to read schematics, electrical plans and mechanical drawings Education & Experience BS in Electrical Engineering or 5 years of verifiable experience in controls programming and industrial maintenance Food manufacturing experience is a plus Certification of Rockwell Automation and Wonderware training is a plus
