Controls Engineer

In this role, you will:
• Design and develop control systems for HVAC systems, including programming, testing, and commissioning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and construction managers
• Develop and implement sequences of operation for HVAC systems, including temperature control, humidity control, and air quality control
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems
• Conduct site visits to inspect and test control systems
• Develop and maintain documentation, including design documents, test reports, and operation manuals
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including ASHRAE and local building codes
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in control systems and HVAC technology
• Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
Controls Engineers use a range of tools and techniques, including:
• AutoCAD: Computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating electrical system designs.
• Strong understanding of control systems, including programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, and SCADA Desired skills
• Construction or industrial maintenance background
• Experience working with and developing FMEA and asset hierarchy organization
• Experience with energy management systems (EMS) and energy efficiency projects
• Familiarity of production machinery controls systems, and integration into smart building systems
• Experience leading matrixed teams consisting of both Customers and Peer groups
• Certification in HVAC controls, such as LEED AP or CEM
• Experience with commissioning and testing
• History of driving savings through value engineering cost designs
• Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain clearances as needed to support Customers
• Knowledge of LMBuildings terminology and how to operate
• Knowledge of LMBuildings reporting
• Ability to operate Tableau
• Demonstrate knowledge of secure workspace construction and security requirements
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to interpret customer requirements
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all levels of personnel
• Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of Lockheed Martin Facilities Standards, Industry Standards, policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience leading change/process improvement activities and driving employee engagement to deliver results.
