We are looking for a dedicated Controls Engineer to develop, maintain, and improve automation control systems integral to the production process of automotive seating manufacture and assembly. This role involves supporting the maintenance department in troubleshooting equipment issues, including PLC ladder logic and data handling functions in Control Logix processors. The position requires maintaining PLC documentation and an archive of PLC programs and machine controls drawings, both electronically and in paper format throughout the facility. Responsibilities
Develop and improve automation control systems for automotive seating manufacture. Support maintenance department in troubleshooting equipment issues, including PLC logic. Maintain and archive PLC documentation and machine controls drawings. Repair and improve automated equipment, including I/O devices and instruments. Support I/O devices connected to PLCs and assist in troubleshooting pneumatic circuits. Enhance equipment uptime and contribute to plant reliability maintenance. Schedule and complete backups of electronic machine control and robotic programs. Develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance Programs. Diagnose problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems interfacing with electrical systems. Troubleshoot and maintain Fanuc and Motoman/Yaskawa Robot systems. Set up, troubleshoot, and monitor the torque tool systems. Essential Skills
PLC programming and troubleshooting. Controls engineering expertise. Experience with Allen Bradley and FANUC systems. Robotics and manufacturing engineering knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Motoman/Yaskawa Robot systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Work Environment
The position is based in a clean manufacturing environment, excluding the foam area. You will work the 2nd shift from 4pm to 2:30am, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays potentially required for project work, and rarely some Sundays. Expect to average 50 hours per week as the sole controls engineer on the shift. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
