Job Summary: The key responsibilities of the Customer Technical Service Engineer are to provide can handling, filling, and double seaming support for Trivium plants and customers. Establish double seaming recommendations, develop qualification protocol, and oversee customer qualification of Trivium cans and ends. The CTS Engineer will make routine service calls to company and customer plants to audit, troubleshoot, and overhaul can handling, filling, and double seaming machinery and provide guidance to company and customer representatives.
Job Duties: Provide Trivium customers with an expert, professional resource for the resolution of mechanical problems related to can double-seam equipment.
Ensure customers run Trivium’s products within established guidelines for optimal double seam performance.
Assist Trivium’s customers in establishing programs for the auditing, repair, and maintenance of double-seam equipment.
Act as a resource for Trivium for qualification of Trivium material and in resolution of field problems.¨NBSP;
Develop and manage double-seaming guidelines.
Develop qualification protocol for new customers and/or products.
Change-over and setup double seamers in accordance with Trivium guidelines; perform double seamer audits and recommend maintenance and upgrades.
Overhaul double seamers
Establish preventative maintenance (PM) programs to increase efficiencies and eliminate downtime.
Supervise mechanics and line personnel performing equipment maintenance and overhauls.
Meet with key clients, assisting technical sales representatives with resolving customer issues and maintaining relationships.
Prepare periodic customer technical reports.
Manage engineering projects to deliver timely results within budget.
Review market analyses to determine customer needs.
Continually update knowledge of current and developing tooling, materials, and technologies
Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements: Associate degree, trade school, or more than five years’ experience in the field is required.
Strong mechanical skills and ability to work through complex problems.
Clear understanding of the double seam evaluation process and to be able to resolve problems.
Strong communication skills that span various levels of management both with customers and Trivium
Self-starter with initiative, integrity, and an ability to develop relationships with customer personnel as well as Trivium teammates.
Require Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, basic AutoCAD is a plus.
Strong analytical skills
Must be willing to travel to plant locations up to 50%.
Ability to lift safely 25 lbs.
