Brief Overview of Position:

Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking candidates for a Cyber Operations Engineer to support a Department of Homeland Security client. The ideal candidate will support daily operations, automation, and light project coordination activities. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives at the intersection of engineering, scripting, and operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and monitoring (alerting) across security vulnerability application and scanning platforms

Monitor system health, and process flows, escalating issues as needed (a daily cadence until the alerting is in place)

Support operations project management tasks: tracking requirements, updating timelines, facilitating syncs, and ensuring deliverable follow-through

Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and documentation

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, compliance, and security teams

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree

2-4 years of experience in operations, DevOps, or automation engineering

Proficient in Python and comfortable building and modifying automation workflows

Experience with tools such as Git, JIRA, Confluence, and Power BI

Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively across teams

Attributes: Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Must be a U.S with an active secret clearance
