Cybersecurity Engineer Onsite (Camp Pendleton, CA)

Contingent Position

An organization is seeking to hire a Cybersecurity Engineer to support a defense-focused project onsite at Camp Pendleton, CA. This position supports a government contract providing Data Management and Cybersecurity services in support of Testing, Engineering, Integration, and Sustainment of Marine Corps C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
  • Recommend and implement hardware, software, or network solutions to resolve problems.

  • Conduct administration, configuration, and support of IT infrastructure, including operating systems, network components, and application security.

  • Implement STIG checklists across a wide range of technologies and write/create DoD cybersecurity policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Review Windows, Linux, Cloud, network/applications STIGs, DoD Security Requirement Guides (SRGs), and vendor hardening guides.

  • Run ACAS vulnerability scans.

  • Generate reports and propose remediations for open findings.

  • Continuously monitor, report, and respond to any changes to applications that may impact their security posture.

  • Perform Cybersecurity daily operational support.

  • Create and track audit reports and metrics, reporting issues to the Information System Security Manager.

  • Support investigations of cyber breaches.

  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and implementing cybersecurity policy.

  • Conduct analysis of multiple data sources to identify indicators of compromise.

  • Draft client reports to explain findings and recommendations.

  • Stay up to date with current cyber threats, attack tactics, and detection techniques.

  • Use PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python to automate repetitive tasks.

  • Collaborate with other cybersecurity engineers to review security-tool related issues, develop solutions, and make recommendations to address issues that impact multiple customers while meeting security requirements.

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • Five years of demonstrated experience in cybersecurity.

  • Three years of demonstrated experience with malware or forensics and intrusion detection analysis.

  • Two years of demonstrated experience with tools such as FTK, Wireshark, Autopsy, or similar technologies.

  • One year of demonstrated experience developing code in languages such as Python, Lua, C/C++, Ruby, or similar.

  • IAT Level I Certification.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
  • IAT Level II or III certification.

  • Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent.
