About the Role:   As a Data Engineer at Navaide, you will build and optimize modern data infrastructure to enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and decision intelligence for mission-critical government programs. You'll play a key role in extracting and transforming large datasets from legacy systems—such as SAP—and delivering robust, scalable pipelines across cloud-native platforms like Azure Databricks.
How You Will Make an Impact: Your work will directly support data modernization efforts through efficient ingestion, transformation, and orchestration of trusted data, enabling real-time insight and agile decision-making across complex enterprise environments.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or data platform development
Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake
Proficient in Azure Data Factory (ADF) for building and orchestrating data pipelines
Experience extracting and transforming data from SAP ECC or S/4HANA using SAP extractors
Knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC) methods and ETL/ELT best practices
Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation and logic implementation
Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and performance tuning
Duties & Responsibilities:
Design and build efficient, secure, and reusable data pipelines in Databricks and Azure Data Factory
Integrate large datasets from legacy systems such as SAP using extractors and CDC mechanisms
Implement CDC/ETL processes to support real-time and batch data flows
Ensure quality, consistency, and lineage of data across multiple systems and use cases
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and solution architects to support downstream analytics and ML models
Maintain documentation and contribute to data platform standardization, security, and compliance practices
Security Clearance: Must be eligible to receive a DoD security clearance.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required ( Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
