This position requires working onsite at our Nashville, TN office.
The Data Engineer III translates data and information analytic requirements into an information systems data repository/business intelligence system that supports end user data analysis, forecasting, and mining. Analyzes business intelligence system's requirements, design specifications, design and implementation of ETL processes, validation/accuracy, maintenance, and resource utilization. Must be knowledgeable about creating, enhancing scalability, defining conceptual, logical, and physical models and able to participate in tool evaluations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The incumbent should be able to perform the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost, risk, and supportability analyses for total systems to solve complex, non-routine analytics problems.
Leads design and build of analytic solutions using on-premise and cloud technologies supporting all project phases (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and data archive).
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into a solution roadmap that acknowledges technical, data quality, business process, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into analytic solution specifications.
Responsible for metadata strategy, change data capture and extract strategy, data cleansing and security strategy, various technical standards, performance metrics, and usage capacity metrics.
Works with data governance teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with CJIS, HIPAA, and company standards.
Works with internal team members; effectively communicates with them in sharing, completing, and reviewing work. Provides documentation, mentoring, and training to stakeholders for solutions built or technologies being deployed.
Manages problem and request tickets for assigned technology. Ensures availability of supported technology.
Maintains relationships with stakeholder departments and ensures all solutions and support are provided in the context of assisting application users succeed in their business goals.
Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or Engineering is required.
Seven years of full-time professional experience with progressive responsibility in modern data platform design, API integration, real-time streaming, and message brokering, in addition to data lake/warehouse solution design and development, is required.
Experience must include:
Three years of experience writing SQL;
Extensive background building and delivering data warehouse or data lake solutions using Oracle and/or Microsoft technologies such as Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric Synapse Analytics, and Power BI;
Two years of experience leading technology-based projects and experience with large databases or data warehouses in an online production environment.
Strong functional knowledge of relational database concepts and data structures; demonstration of relational and dimensional data modeling.
Experience with data quality initiatives, creating delta tables, scrubbing data, and preparing data.
Experience with data integration/ETL tools, specifically Talend, Informatica, Security including Entra, Purview and RLS in Power BI Microsoft Azure Data Factory or other SQL environments such as Power BI.
Experience with a programming language such as Python SAS Viya is preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior business leaders is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
