Data Engineer
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design and maintain the infrastructure powering data-driven decisions across their organization. This role supports a SaaS platform and sits at the intersection of analytics, engineering, and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in building scalable pipelines, data modeling, and system optimization, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data integrity and accessibility.
This role is fully remote.
Data Engineer Responsibilities Design and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using tools such as dbt, Kinesis Firehose, Airbyte, and Segment.
Build and optimize data models that enable robust reporting and business intelligence.
Collaborate with team members through code reviews and shared best practices.
Analyze system changes and evaluate downstream impacts to data consumers.
Mentor peers and stakeholders to promote effective use of enterprise data assets.
Support ad hoc data projects through structuring, analysis, and presentation of insights.
Maintain awareness of industry trends, tools, and technologies to inform data architecture design.
Ensure compliance with data privacy standards and implement necessary security measures.
Monitor and enhance query and database performance to support operational efficiency.
Data Engineer Qualifications Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with SQL and Python.
Proven experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and schema design.
Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling principles.
Excellent communication skills, especially when explaining complex technical concepts.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Preferred: 4+ years of experience with AWS, dbt, and/or Looker.
Previous experience in a software or data engineering role.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Salary: $100K-$140K/year. (DOE) Benefits
