Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Cupertino, CA. ideal candidate will have strong Python and SQL skills, experience with modern data tooling, and a solid understanding of data modeling and software engineering practices.

Rate Range: $65.18/hour to $68.18/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Engineer job responsibilities include:

Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines using SQL and Python. Manage the full data lifecycle from ingestion and transformation to model deployment and reporting. Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver clean, reliable, and well-documented data. Implement workflows using Airflow and manage version control via GitHub. Support data modeling and transformation using DBT, with data housed in Snowflake. Use Jupyter Notebooks for collaborative data exploration and documentation. Build tools to monitor, validate, and test data pipelines. Contribute to automation efforts and support urgent data reporting needs. Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desired Qualifications: MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Battery Engineering, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or data analytics. Proficient in SQL, Python, and Bash/shell scripting. Experience with Spark, Airflow, Snowflake, DBT, AWS S3, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jupyter Notebooks. Familiarity with Git-based CI/CD pipelines and collaborative code development. Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and big data ecosystems.
