Position Description:
CGI Federal is currently seeking a Database Engineer for future projects with prior experience supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA).
***This role will be onsite in Woodlawn, MD (no remote). Candidates should reside within 2 hours of Woodlawn, MD*** Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Analyzing, designing, developing, reviewing, testing, and deploying database code, • Grooming database-related user stories according to an agile format, • Creating database and stored procedure designs and sizing work accordingly, • Integrating database code with Pega PRPC (Pega RULES Process Commander), • Managing complex sets of stored procedures for development and deployment, • Collaborating on best practices and providing technical support for the following activities: o Standardizing data names, definitions, usage, and structures, o Defining database access controls, o Managing metadata and data element synonyms, o Overseeing database administration efforts as part of a full systems development lifecycle, • Providing critical recommendations and solutions from the database administration perspective for complex problems throughout all phases of the SDLC, • Providing technical briefing, • Participating in meetings and walkthroughs, • Analyzing problems and recommending solutions, • Providing support to application analysis, development, and validation team(s), and Conducting research. Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
The Database Engineer shall possess a BS/BA or equivalent with a minimum of five years of information technology experience. They shall provide technical database development and administration support across multiple databases. The individual shall design, develop, implement, and maintain complex database schemas and stored procedures. The individual shall provide knowledge transfer to OIG personnel and support collaboration across database systems and other management systems to support the administration of OIG’s programmatic data. They shall have a minimum of three years of experience with supporting an Inspector General or law enforcement agency.
Preferred Certifications: SQL*Server DBA, PostgreSQL DBA Skills:
