A growing technology team is hiring a *Database Engineer* to support the design and optimization of secure, cloud-based data environments. This is a full-time, *remote* position requiring U.S. citizenship and an *active Secret clearance*. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on experience with modern database tools, scripting, and cloud migration.

Responsibilities

* Design, implement, and manage relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) * Build and optimize data pipelines using *Azure Data Factory* and *Databricks* * Improve database performance via indexing, query tuning, and storage management * Support cloud migration and modernization of legacy systems * Implement monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery strategies * Automate database maintenance using *Python*, *PowerShell*, or similar * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and efficient data flow

Required Qualifications

* *5+ years* of experience in database engineering or administration * *Active Secret clearance* (must be adjudicated and visible in DISS) * Proficiency in SQL and relational database systems * Experience with *Azure Data Factory* and *Databricks* (*Required*) * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field * Must be a *U.S. Citizen*

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in *federal or DoD environments* * DoD 8140 compliance (e.g., *Security+*) preferred * Familiarity with Agile development tools like Jira * Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS) are a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
