Title: Design Engineer

Shift: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Salary: Competitive Salary $70,000-$90,000, depending on education and experience

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of heavy-duty steel belt conveyors. For over 60 years, our brand has been well regarded for quality and durability, serving multiple industries including primary steel, stamping and fabrication, forging, and recycling. We are hiring a Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to our continued legacy.

Job Title Role:

This role is responsible for the design of mechanical components and machinery for the conveyor industry, primarily utilizing Autodesk Inventor Pro, to meet customer specifications and support production needs.

Job Title Responsibilities:

• Create conveyor equipment parts and machinery components in 3-D utilizing AUTODESK INVENTOR PRO

• Interface with customers for design solutions and approvals

• Convert existing AUTOCAD 2-D drawings into INVENTOR PRO 3-D format

• Create a company-specific parts library of 3-D parts and components

• Utilize company parts and components library to create Bill of Materials in an EXCEL format

• Assist Engineering Manager with ISO 9001:With Design, Quality Assurance Program forms, audits and inspections

• Assist with Quoting, Sales, and Initial Design Requirements for mechanical components and machinery

• Review and analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and proposals to submit quotations to customers

Job Title Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. There are no direct reports for this role.

About You:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor 3-D and able to generate design drawings in a timely manner

• Possess strong math skills and attention to detail

• Take initiative with a small team of colleagues

• Proficient working in Microsoft Office and other business-related software

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Comfortable working with customers on design solutions

• Possess strong teamwork, attention to detail, and organizational skills

• Exhibit creative thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills

• Identify and present solutions when additional resources are needed

• Able to handle multiple projects

• Communicate with customers in a professional manner to review engineering drawings

• Degree preferred but not required
