Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months contract to hire
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer and Release Manager to support a dynamic team of 10 PODs managing a hybrid environment of mainframe and distributed applications. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a major modernization initiative, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the client’s strategic pillar to run our company better.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage end-to-end release processes across multiple PODs, ensuring smooth, timely, and high-quality deployments.
Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for both mainframe and distributed application environments.
Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to automate and streamline build, test, and deployment workflows.
Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and scalability during and after migration phases.
Drive best practices in DevOps, release management, and configuration management tailored to a mixed technology stack.
Facilitate communication and coordination among PODs to align release schedules and resolve dependencies.
Support the migration strategy from mainframe to distributed systems by enabling automation and operational readiness.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in DevOps engineering and release management in complex, multi-team environments.
Strong knowledge of mainframe and distributed application ecosystems.
Expertise with CI/CD tools, automation frameworks, and release orchestration.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across diverse technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple releases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
