POSITION OVERVIEW
SteerBridge Strategies is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support the Loan Guaranty (LGY) program at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This role is part of a collaborative agile team modernizing legacy systems through secure and scalable software development practices. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing secure continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and supporting cloud-native infrastructure.
REQUIRED Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance, including favorable Tier 1 (T1) background investigation and electronic fingerprints. EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a similar role. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Working knowledge of security tools and processes integrated into DevSecOps (e.g., Snyk, SonarQube, Anchore). Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines that support continuous delivery of applications. Integrate automated security controls and tools across all phases of the software development lifecycle. Collaborate with development, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to support a secure and scalable system architecture. Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues and implement fixes for long-term scalability. Document processes, pipeline configurations, and deployment strategies. Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability and resilience. Support compliance with VA cybersecurity and configuration management policies. COMPENSATION
