As a Digital Product Security Engineer supporting the Engineering team, you will be trusted to work on integrating product security into Alcon products, services, and digital solutions. The product security engineer should be knowledgeable in cybersecurity concepts, technology, tools, security standards, and related processes. This role is based in Lake Forest, California, or remote. A typical day will include: Building strong partnerships with product teams Implementing security controls/methods for software, applications, systems, and digital solutions for medical device products Developing and tracking cybersecurity bill of materials (CBOM) Supporting product security risk assessments, requirements analysis, and testing methods Executing product security testing, including test planning, case development, and procedures Performing vulnerability assessments and software scanning (Static/Dynamic) Identifying potential security vulnerabilities and collaborating with R&D teams for remediation Contributing to feasibility studies, proofs of concept, and technology evaluations for new security capabilities Participating in security innovation and research activities Supporting compliance and regulatory documentation for product security Participating in improvement projects related to security processes, technologies, and tools Supporting API and cloud security design and solutions WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (or high school +10 years; Associate +6 years; Master's or PhD +0 years) Fluency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English At least 5 years of relevant experience Basic knowledge of cybersecurity, software engineering, and product development Problem-solving, logical reasoning, and analytical skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a regulatory environment Knowledge of cybersecurity in software/application or embedded systems Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Python, C++, C#, PHP Experience with security testing, testing methods, and tools HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON: Work in a highly collaborative environment Join Alcon's mission to provide innovative products to improve sight and lives Benefit from a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, retirement, and flexible time off Travel requirement: 15% Relocation assistance available Sponsorship: Not available
