Our current team at VPE Thermal is offering an opportunity for an early career engineer with a strong background in solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer to join a rapidly growing company with significant career advancement opportunities. Pay Range: 80-115K (depending on experience)

As a mechanical engineer at VPE Thermal, your primary role will revolve around taking conceptual designs from a senior engineer and turning them into hardware. On any day you may be asked to generate detailed engineering drawings, perform code calculations, document design information in a report, develop a manufacturing plan, procure items in a bill of materials, contract work with an outside shop, or anything in between.
Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from accredited four-year college or university
• Course work in solid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
• Computer aided design (CAD) from construction of a 3D model to detailed engineering drawings
• Document manufacturing plans, work instructions, design information, and research findings
• Basic project management including quoting, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
• Manage the tasks and interface with technicians (welders, machinists) or subcontractors
• Basic manufacturing processes including cutting, milling, forming, and welding of stainless steel
Desired Experience:
• Master’s degree with advanced coursework and/or research in solid mechanics and heat transfer
• Prior work using codes such as ASME BPVC, B31.3, B31.1, B16.9
• Ability to construct FEA models and interpret results to make design decisions
• More than two years working in high paced manufacturing environment
• Prior work experience in ISO/AS9100 environment
• Proven track record of interfacing with customers to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Interpret and deliver products adhering to customer design specifications
• Identify and diagnose issues with root cause analysis
• Design and construct test equipment for heat transfer or fluid dynamics experiments
