Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer. This position offers an onsite work environment with occasional travel to job sites for system commissioning. The ideal candidate will need strong experience in Building Automation Systems. You will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and commissioning control systems for commercial and building automation. This role requires hands-on experience with HVAC controls, energy management, and integration of various BAS platforms. Key Responsibilities: o Design and develop control system architectures for HVAC and BAS applications. o Develop control system architectures for new products, including hardware selection (HMIs, sensors, actuators, and software programming logic. Develop and implement sequences of operation based on project specifications and customer requirements. o Program control logic and systems to meet customer requirements, specifications, and standards. o Create control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and system architecture drawings. o Conduct thorough testing of control systems on test benches or prototype machines to identify and resolve issues. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to controls hardware and software. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, sales, and customer support, to deliver effective control solutions. o Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including control system drawings, wiring diagrams, and system specifications. o Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer specifications. o Maintain and improve internal processes to enhance product quality and efficiency. o Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into product designs. Additional Skills & Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in control systems engineering or commissioning with strong emphasis on BAS. • Strong knowledge of control system integration, including electrical schematics, HMIs, and field devices. • Experience with control communication protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, and Ethernet/IP. • Familiarity with industrial automation and OEM systems for HVAC. • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex system issues. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and customers. • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively. Preferred Skills: • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards. • Familiarity with control systems design software such as AutoCAD, Visio, etc. • Experience with Distech control Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
