Electrical Design Engineer

The electrical designer will be responsible for managing key activities related to municipal Water/Wastewater system projects. Responsibilities include performing field investigation and condition assessment of electrical power distribution and control equipment. They will develop designs for electrical distribution, lighting systems, and control systems for Water and Wastewater facilities using recognized industry standards and specifications. They should possess preliminary knowledge of instrumentation devices such as level, pressure, temperature, and flow. They will conduct system calculations and studies for electrical power systems, including load flows, voltage drops, and short circuit/coordination studies using electrical analytical software like SKM Tools. They will attend design meetings with clients and collaborate with other design consultants working on the project.

Essential skills include working knowledge of standards and codes related to electrical distribution and control systems, proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel, effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with supervisors, colleagues, and clients, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and moderate to good verbal and written communication abilities.

Additional skills and qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, minimum of 1 year of design experience post-college, preferably from an A/E firm, and no automotive experience.

The work environment is casual and informal, with a focus on flexibility and providing support to employees. You will work full-time in the office performing design and engineering work, with flexible hours for production positions. The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
