About The Role

An established electric utility provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to play a key role in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of its electrical distribution system. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about infrastructure development and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive System Evaluation

Analyze the electrical distribution network to identify and implement system improvements. Design and execute a forward-looking four-year maintenance and construction strategy.

System Optimization Collaboration

Collaborate with team members to evaluate load flow, short circuit conditions, and relay protection schemes. Conduct advanced studies such as voltage regulation, arc flash analysis, and system coordination.

Future-Proofing Infrastructure

Plan and design upgrades to meet projected system demands and accommodate increased energy loads.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing software. Mathematics: Strong background in trigonometry, calculus, algebra, and analytical geometry. Industry Tools: Experience with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories products or comparable technologies is a plus. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NERC and FERC standards; experience with SPP is advantageous. Attributes: Excellent problem-solving skills, organizational ability, and strong communication. Licensing: Valid New Mexico driver's license; adherence to drug testing policies required.
