Electrical Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment, working on a variety of facility engineering and design projects across multiple industries, including educational, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, healthcare, and aviation. You will collaborate with senior engineering staff from the initial conceptual design to construction and commissioning of large and small facilities projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform design computations and develop construction cost estimates.
Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
Attend meetings with clients to discuss project goals and specifications.
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion within deadlines and quality standards.
Work on electrical power distribution, power generation, motor controls, lighting systems, fire alarm design, telecommunications network design, and security systems design.
Required Experience Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5-10 years of experience in electrical power distribution, power generation, motor controls, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm design, telecommunications, or security systems design.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Hands-on experience with Autodesk’s CADD and Revit design tools.
Proficient in discipline-specific design software.
Understanding and application of NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes for electrical design work.
Must successfully complete and pass a Motor Vehicle screening.
Nice to Have:
Professional Engineer License (PE).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Bentley’s Microstation.
Familiarity with Electrical Modeling Software (SKM Power Tools or ETAP).
Experience with Lighting Modeling Software (AGi32 or ElumTools).
Experience with electrical testing apparatus .
Knowledge of federal, state, and local government agencies regulations.
Familiarity with local, county, and state codes .
Experience working with local clients at the county and state level .
Work Environment:
90% of work is performed in a general office environment.
Occasional fieldwork may require exposure to outdoor conditions (heat, cold, humidity, and dry conditions).
Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
Regional travel (within 90 miles) for meetings, field surveys, and construction verification.
