Do you want to work in a results-oriented, hands-on, multi-discipline design engineering environment, writing, and debugging software on physical hardware? Our Equipment Software Design team is looking to hire a driven embedded software engineer. This engineer will develop embedded software running on bare metal to embedded Linux as well as higher level interface software. You will work with other software engineers and other engineering disciplines to create custom in-house semiconductor equipment from the ground up. What You'll Do: Design: Develop new and modify existing equipment in cross-discipline design teams (software, electrical, control, and mechanical engineers). Create documentation for your designs. Code: Develop in C, C++, Bash, and Python on bare metal and under RHEL compatible Linux distros in containers. Manufacture: Work with New Product Introduction, Field Service and Operation teams in the manufacturing and support of equipment. Innovate: Our design team is challenged with projects to keep Micron competitive in the marketplace. Our designs are frequently providing solutions that no one else has addressed. We design what doesn't exist yet. Support: Work to improve existing designs, responding to manufacturing and production support. Hands-On Work: Daily opportunities to work hands-on with electronics, computers, in-house and third-party designed equipment in a lab environment. Why Join Us? Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent C, C++ experience Fundamental mixed signal knowledge Lab equipment knowledge (oscilloscopes, DMMs) Experience in Linux and the GNU toolchain Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in industry embedded work C, C++, and Python proficiency Dev Tool Experience (Jira, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory) Experience with embedded software tools Proficiency with schematics, and PCB layout Proficiency with mixed signal circuits Proficiency with Linux, GNU toolchain In-depth knowledge of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, SMUs) Experience building physical systems (software + hardware) As a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
