Position: Senior Unreal Generalist Engineer Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid / In-Person Available) Experience Required: 5+ years About the Role We're seeking a versatile Senior Unreal Generalist Engineer to work across multiple systems and disciplines. You'll contribute to various aspects of our UE5 extraction shooter, from core engine systems to gameplay features, helping polish and optimize a mature codebase. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain systems across multiple game disciplines (gameplay, rendering, audio, UI)
Integrate third-party tools and middleware into the existing framework
Optimize performance and memory usage across different platforms
Implement and maintain build systems and deployment pipelines
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges
Contribute to technical architecture decisions and code reviews
Support content creators with tools and workflow improvements
Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional Unreal Engine development experience (UE4/UE5)
Strong C++ programming skills with broad engine knowledge
Experience working across multiple game systems and disciplines
Shipped at least 2 commercial games in various roles
Proficiency with version control systems (Perforce, Git)
Experience with build automation and CI/CD pipelines
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing requirements
Preferred Qualifications Experience with multiplayer game development
Knowledge of rendering systems and graphics programming
Familiarity with audio systems and middleware integration
Experience with platform-specific optimization (PC, Console)
Background in tools development and editor extensions
