POSITION OVERVIEW
Quanta Technology LLC seeks Engineer II (Raleigh, NC) Duties: Perform power network modeling and analyses by applying power generation and transmission principles. Contribute towards the successful completion of a range of projects that include but are not limited to power system planning studies involving steady-state, short circuit and dynamic stability, Generator and Renewables Interconnection, Power System Economics, and Market analysis. Management of budget, schedule, and quality to ensure successful completion of power system studies projects. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Perform power systems analysis including transmission planning and feasibility studies to analyze the impact of proposed generation expansion on the transmission system. Perform steady-state load flow analysis for system intact and contingency conditions. Analyze any limiting constraints such as thermal overloads to arrive at recommendations for the transmission upgrades based on various build-out configurations and cost estimates. Develop dynamic models for conventional and inverter-based resources. Prepare generation Interconnection studies per ISOs/RTOs requirements. Develop an understanding and comply with the Transmission and Regulatory quality program. Perform detailed market pricing analysis and economic forecasting and resources revenue calculations. Develop program scripts for data processing, data cleaning, and automation. Conduct power flow system modeling according to real-time operation data. Support continuous improvement and team management effort. Share and coordinate information with other team members. Focus on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain an understanding of the external client’s main interests and drivers. Identify technical, practical, and economical project risks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Must have technical expertise in at least one area of the utility industry as demonstrated by previous project experience, involvement in technical societies, patents, or peer-review publications. Must have academic experience in the following areas as demonstrated by completion of graduate coursework and/or projects:
Power Flow Formulation.
Network Planning and Reliability.
Signals and Circuits.
At least 3 or more of the following programming languages and visualization software C, C++, R, Python, MATLAB, Fortran, EPCL.
Financial Modeling and Feasibility of energy projects. LOCATION
Raleigh, NC- Hybrid work model position, working 3 days in office, and 2 days remote from within normal commuting distance of the office location.
