JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Engineer II, our Client is looking for someone who will play a key role in our team, assisting Project Managers and Engineering Designers to create innovative and impactful engineering designs. Your main focus will be on completing engineering designs, construction plans, and technical reports, all while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
*Please note that prospective candidates must be located in either San Antonio OR New Braunfels, Texas.*
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers in the production of project plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports (with calculations)
Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and cost
Perform site research and prepare feasibility reports for new projects
Conduct field visits to understand existing site conditions and construction status checks
Maintain and troubleshoot project folder organization
Create civil engineering design in coordination with Project Engineer
Prepare Civil Submittal Packages for review
Assist with intern training and workload
Utilize AutoCAD as appropriate to address review comments and prepare plan updates
Monitor efficiency and workload with assistance of Project Engineer
Communicates with Survey Department on work needed
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from An ABET accredited college or university and a minimum of 1-4 years’ experience
Received E.I.T. certification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience
Experience in civil design – site commercial and/or residential design
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Proficient in producing engineering drawings and calculations
Effective communication skills both oral and written with all levels of employees within the organization
Self-starter and has the ability to work interdependently within a team environment
Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
