Description:
Performs a variety of aircraft systems engineering work including design, analysis, substantiation, certification, and drawing interpretation as related to transport category aircraft systems modifications.
What you will be responsible for:
? Design and analyze aircraft systems and components, typically in support of aircraft interior modifications (STC projects), including vacuum and water/waste, air conditioning, fire protection and oxygen systems.
? Work independently to gather data and input on the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs after having been given general instructions regarding scope and parameters.
? Prepare systems modification/installation/fabrication drawings, engineering reports and work instructions.
? Participate in design reviews and presentations with suppliers, customers, and various internal departments to obtain input on, agreement with, and understanding of project objectives and schedules.
? Troubleshoot aircraft issues during STC prototype and post STC using standard testing tools and methods.
Qualifications:
What you will need to be successful in this role :
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
5 years of engineering design or analysis experience.
Experience with commercial aircraft (Airbus or Boeing) required.
Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs - from Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations) as they apply to transport category aircraft.
Familiarity with the FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and technical publications (i.e.: Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC).
Experience creating engineering details, assemblies and installation drawings using AutoCAD/Inventor and standard engineering drawing convention.
