Description We are excited to welcome a dedicated Enterprise Network Engineer to our team! In this vital role, you will take charge of designing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing our network environments to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity. You will collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams to guarantee seamless integration across the organization's infrastructure and compliance with federal and DoD standards. Join us in troubleshooting and resolving Tier 3-level network incidents, escalations, and outages! Primary Responsibilities: Administer, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network monitoring tools across diverse network environments. Design and implement secure network architectures, including segmentation, redundancy, and failover strategies. Monitor network performance, analyze usage trends, and implement improvements for optimal throughput and reliability. Manage IP address allocation, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configurations across the enterprise. Ensure compliance with applicable network security protocols, including DoD STIGs, RMF, and other accreditation standards. Maintain and update detailed documentation, including network configurations, topologies, procedures, and baselines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network infrastructure with broader IT and cybersecurity systems. Support Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives. Participate in patch management processes and network modernization efforts. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Tier 1 and Tier 2 support staff; contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Basic Qualifications: TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. Hands-on experience in network engineering, including planning, designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructures. Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Solid understanding of routing and switching technologies and protocols. Experience managing networking hardware including routers, switches, and load balancers. Practical experience in network administration and network security best practices. Ability to manage and configure firewalls and other perimeter security devices. Familiarity with load balancer setup and management to optimize traffic distribution. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues. Experience in network monitoring, testing, and performance optimization. Ability to work independently and lead tasks or small projects, including mentoring junior technical staff. Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with cross-functional and client-facing teams. Preferred Qualifications: Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Security+. Experience with network design and implementation in federal, DoD, or other regulated environments. Knowledge of network accreditation processes. Experience in evaluating and recommending new networking technologies and tools. Scripting or automation experience for network configuration and monitoring. Familiarity with COOP/DR (Continuity of Operations/Disaster Recovery) networking considerations. Knowledge of SDN (Software Defined Networking) or cloud-based networking environments. Experience documenting network architectures, diagrams, procedures, and operational baselines. Pay Range: Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only.
