Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Engineer to join our team and develop expertise in power connector applications and design. This role involves gaining hands-on experience in sand casting, foundry operations, and machine shop procedures, as well as providing technical support to customers and internal teams. The engineer will assist in product testing, cost estimation, catalog updates, and quality assurance initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Technical Support: Assist the Sales Department, Agents, and customers with technical inquiries and product recommendations. Product Development: Design and develop new and custom power connectors, ensuring compliance with industry standards. CAD Design: Create 2D assembly drawings and 3D CAD models (AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor preferred). Cost Estimation: Analyze new product designs and provide accurate cost estimates. Manufacturing Support: Learn and assist with foundry operations, sand casting, and machining processes. Quality Assurance: Inspect products for adherence to specifications and support quality and safety programs. Testing & Evaluation: Conduct mechanical and electrical tests on products, analyze results, and prepare reports. Pattern Design & Inspection: Oversee pattern designs, modifications, and repairs to enhance production efficiency. Documentation & Catalog Updates: Assist with maintaining technical documentation and promotional literature. Customer Site Visits: Travel as needed (domestic & international) for product support and customer interactions.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 0-2 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates welcome). Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software (AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor preferred). Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook). Desire to obtain a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Experience or knowledge in power engineering, power utilities, or power substations is a plus. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
